Radiation and Homeopathy

With all the talk of the Nuclear Reactor problems in Japan, it seems like an appropriate time to discuss how homeopathy and other natural therapies can help protect you from radiation and flush out any radiation that you may become exposed to. This is true for nuclear reactor incidents, naked body scanners at airports or radiation from allopathic cancer treatment.

It is recommended that individuals take Potassium Iodine when there is a nuclear reactor incident, such as in Japan.  This is to flood the thyroid with Iodine so that the thyroid won’t take up the radioactive iodine that is released from the nuclear reactor.  Radioactive iodine is also what is recommended by allopathic physicians to stop the function of Thyroid when someone is hyperthyroid.  YIKES!!!

Homeopathy can help!

The first person to use radiation to treat cancer was Dr. Emil Grubbe, a homeopathic physician.  In 1896, it was already recognized that radiation caused cancer.  So following homeopathic principals, it also made sense that maybe it could shrink tumors as well.  Dr. Grubbe actually lost a hand due to radiation exposure, but lived to the ripe old age of 85, largely due to his ongoing homeopathic care as well.

This story is mentioned to show that there is a long history of homeopathy protecting and helping those exposed to radiation.

One of the most common recommendations for radiation protection in Homeopathy is Kali Iodatum, which is Potassium Iodine.  Dana Ullman, MPH, a long time homeopathy researcher and advocate, developed a homeopathy protocol to supplement the potassium iodine tablets.  He and J Satti, PhD, a radiation physicist who is familiar with homeopathy came up with this routine.

Kali Iodatum 6C once a day in the morning and once in the afternoon to anchor the crude doses of potassium iodine.  Kali Iodatum 30C once a day in the evening to flush out the radioactive iodine that may have been absorbed by the body. If any new symptoms are developed by following this protocol, discontinue it.  A dose is about 2 pellets.  Lotus Homeopathy has this in stock.  Call 651-748-1556.

This is believed to help only those forms of radiation that are based on radioactive iodide.  There are many other remedies that can help after radiation exposure, but are too numerous to mention here.

Another remedy to consider is Arsenicum 30C.  Use this remedy if you are feeling FEARFUL that you may be exposed to radiation.  It doesn’t have to be a logical fear.  For example, if you live in the center of the country, as we do in Minnesota, it wouldn’t be as logical to be fearful of this as it would be if you lived on the west coast.  Take a dose of this every time you sense that fear coming over you.

Other Natural Solutions.

Many foods are naturally high in iodine and should be consumed when there is danger of exposure to radiation from a nuclear reactor or other sources of radioactive iodide.

It turns out that Sea Vegetables are naturally high in iodine.  Kelp is an abundant source of iodine and other trace minerals.  Kombu and Nori are as well.  Nori is the seaweed that is used to wrap sushi.  Cooking does not destroy the iodine in the sea vegetables, so add them to soups or cook them a bit if you desire.

You can go out and buy sea vegetables at your local health food store or Asian Market.

Lucky for the Japanese, it also turns out that Miso Soup helps protect against radiation sickness through an active ingredient called zybicolin, discovered in 1972.  Mushrooms and green and black tea can also help.

There is an Australian Bush Flower Essence that was used during the Chernobyl incident.  This flower is called Mulla Mulla.  You may be familiar with Bach Flower essences, especially if you have ever used Rescue Remedy.

Australian Bush Flowers operate on the principal of 7.  You would need to purchase a stock bottle of Mulla Mulla and create a dosing bottle from that.  To do this, you need a 1 ounce dropper bottle, one bottle of Mulla Mulla stock, distilled water and brandy.  Nearly fill the 1 ounce dropper bottle with distilled water.  Add a half teaspoon of Brandy.  Add 7 drops of Mulla Mulla.  Shake the bottle well.

If there is a lot of fear associated with the radiation, you could also add 7 drops of Australian Bush Flower Dog Rose to your dosing bottle.

To use the Mulla Mulla, or Mulla Mulla/Dog Rose combination, take 7 drops under the tongue once each morning and evening.  Use it for two weeks or longer, as needed.

According to the Australian Bush Flower Essence folks, another way to ward off radiation is to carry a small amount of Mulla Mulla in a tiny glass bottle and carry it in your pocket.  Change the liquid every few weeks.

The Mulla Mulla could also be used to ward off any negative effects of the naked body scanners at airports.

Lotus Homeopathy has Mulla Mulla stock bottles and dosing bottles in stock.  Call 651-748-1556.
