Your Liver, PTSD & Anger: Homeopathy Can Help!

Retro graphic of an angry man expressing his anger with AAARGH!One of the more common symptoms of PTSD is anger.  People who have trauma from being abused by a parent or romantic partner or other person they thought they could trust, find themselves lashing out at situations that make them feel similarly to the way the abuse made them feel. Homeopathy can heal your liver AND heal your anger. Here’s how!

Having anger outbursts gives a person a sense of loss of control and hopelessness. It may feel good at the moment, but it creates even more trauma and guilt in the end.

So if you have anger, your options are often lashing out, or stuffing the anger.  Stuffing it often results in rage later on.

Homeopathy can get to the bottom of Anger.  In western medicine, Anger can be helped by a handful of anti depressants, and often anger management is recommended.  In Homeopathy, we have over 600 options for helping anger, and over 250 for that special type of anger called RAGE!  So the options for helping you are far greater than western medicine.

And I can tell you, without a doubt, that every single remedy I have used to help a client recover from PTSD has Anger associated with that remedy as well.

When a client comes to get help with anger, I will investigate to see if there are also signs of something not functioning properly with the Liver.  Here is a previous blog post on Liver problems.

Liver issues are likely to be indicated in people with PTSD, especially if the source of your CPTSD is abuse. (Homeopathy has 83 options of remedies to help with ailments stemming from abuse–again, far more than western medicine.)

One of indicators that something may be amiss with the liver is if you have problems with Conflict and Aggression, either causing it or avoiding it.  You might also be Hyper Willful (sometimes called controlling) or Hypo Willful, where you can’t stand up for yourself.  All of these symptoms would be common to see in someone who has been abused, or honestly, in the abuser as well.

As a homeopath, I would choose a remedy based on your symptoms, but if anger is one of your symptoms, I would check to make sure the remedy also covers Liver symptoms. Another possibility is to start with an Organ Therapeutic remedy as described in this blog post. An organ therapeutic would help heal the liver AND heal the anger.

Although Anger wasn’t one of my issues, irritability was. I did have a lingering, mostly present, slight pain below my right ribs. This is where the liver is located. It irritated me, mentally and emotionally. I took a liver therapeutic remedy daily for three weeks and the pain is gone and has stayed away for 3+ years. It also helped my rosacea, which often accompanies anger.  My mood was better too, as I didn’t have this constant irritant bugging me all the time.

Medication Can Cause Liver Problems and Anger

Another reason your liver might be functioning less than optimally, is due to medication—either from your doctor or self-medicating through alcohol or other drugs.  Since pain is a physical symptom associated with PTSD, you might be taking Tylenol (Liver) or Advil (Kidneys).  Over time, as these things take a toll on your liver, you may notice you are angrier than you used to be. Ironically, any medications you might be taking to help your anger might be causing problems with your liver!

Western medicine really has nothing to offer people with liver problems.  But homeopathy does.

If you are interested in knowing whether you have liver problems, I have a short Organ Questionnaire you can take by clicking here to access the Google Form.  Normally you would get a summary response with a tally of your symptoms.  Unfortunately, do to the varied nature of the questions and possible answers, it is difficult to do that.  So once you have completed your questionnaire, watch your email and I will reach out to you to discuss your finding.

With homeopathy, you can become calmer, not have to “manage” your anger.  Over time, responding with calmness will simply be the way you naturally respond.

Homeopathy can help your anger associated with PTSD. If you’d like to chat a bit about how homeopathy can help you, schedule a Complimentary Consult or Initial Consult.

Can you imagine not feeling angry all the time?  Wouldn’t it be great to have your eczema get better? (Yes, a stressed liver is often the cause of eczema.) I know personally, having my face get red far less often was a relief for me.  Perhaps it will be for you too!  There are so many other possible benefits by healing your liver. Don’t wait to respond to the Organ Questionnaire!

Meet Kathryn Berg the Classical Homeopath at Lotus Homeopathy, Inc.

Some of you know me, others of you may have heard of me. And for most, you probably have no clue about me or my business. So I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself, my family, my business, why I am a homeopath and how I became a homeopath—not necessarily in that order.

Like many people, I found out about homeopathy accidentally. I fell down while walking my Akita pup on an icy sidewalk on a typical Minnesota winter day. I was scheduled to go to a friend’s house later that day, so when I did, I asked her for some ice. You need some Arnica, she told me. Arnica? What’s that? She explained that Arnica is a homeopathic remedy for trauma.

At the time, the only place to get homeopathic remedies was a book and herb store in South Minneapolis. So I went there to get some. When I got there, I decided I should read some books so I actually knew what I was doing. I left with the Arnica 30c and three books. By the time I got done reading them, I knew I wanted to be a homeopath.

It was only several years later that I realized that I was attracted to homeopathy as a profession because I am a problem solver. It is what drives me. There is nothing like a well chosen homeopathic remedy to solve problems.

At the time I decided to become a homeopath, there wasn’t even a school here in in Minnesota. But eventually, my homeopath and his business partner started the Northwestern Academy of Homeopathy. I was a graduate of the third class. At the time I went there, it was a part time program taking three and a half years! Since then I have studied with numerous other well known and respected homeopaths in continuing education studies.

While I do work with all sorts of folks with a variety of conditions, I really have studied how to treat people suffering from PTSD, health issues related to aging women, and children’s health issues of all sorts, including autism. I have also been successful in removing blockages to healing due to suppression of symptoms by western medicine. I chose those specialties because people really suffer who have those forms of dis-ease, and Western Medicine doesn’t seem to have much of a solution for them.

After over twenty years of practice, I still get excited for clients when a remedy has helped them heal.

So that is about my business. Now, a little bit about me.

I have two adult sons in their early twenties, so I have shed the title of “Soccer mom”. My husband and I are empty nesters living in Woodbury, MN. For fun, I like to play piano, sing, sew, garden, hike, and travel. I am in a community choir. I also enjoy cooking healthy meals and, out of necessity, am an expert at cooking for special diets.
